The Ballad of Trayvon Martin

Down in Florida not many months ago,
A young boy was visiting his father
He was minding his own damn business
Not doing any harm and this boy is named Trayvon Martin

Until George Zimmerman saw him come around
He thought he was up to no good
Just cause he saw Trayvon putting his hand in his pockets
And looking from side to side with his hoodie up

Trayvon was only playing around with a bag of Skittles in his hand
And the drink in the other
But no George didn't think so
So he kept on eye on the boy

Trayvon was getting creeped out as he saw the man stare and follow them
He got a call from his beautiful girlfriend
He told her what was going on
She demanding him to run away but that was a big mistake to do

He was shot without any warning
Trayvon was unarmed but George was
But what did Trayvon do?
Nothing of course! Nothing!

Persepolis Blog 1

In Persepolis Marjane started wearing a veil in school after the Islamic Revolution. Ever since the children had been informed to wear in the veil in school. They really didn't wear it they just took it off like it was nothing."We didn't really like to wear the veil, especially since we didn't understand why we had to."  Also Marjane as a little girl wanted to become a prophet. I found that foolish for a little child to decided that decision. Honestly it was interesting for a 10 year old Iran girl to think that way. She wanted to become a prophet because she said that she was born with religion. She thought that she was the last prophet. "I wanted to become a prophet because our maid didn't eat with us, because my father had a Cadillac, and above all because my grandmother's knees always ached." Later on Marjane learns that her grandfather was a prince. She was surprised when her father told her. Then she started to know more about her grandfather. Her grandfather was a prince but the King took everything he owned. Leaving the grandfather in poverty. He then started demonstrating and got sent to jail often. Marjane's mother would always be scared when she heard a knock on the door. She thought that the police were there to take her father away. Sometimes they were the police men. "I remember when I was a small girl everytime there was knock on the door. I thought they were coming to take my father to prison. One time out of two it was really true."

  Since I don't know what to write about.... I'll just write about music. What can I really say about music? Its relaxing, gets your mind out of things, and it makes you think. There are many types of music its not just one specific one that everyone has to like. You got your rock, disco, rap, punk rock, opera, country (god I hate that type of music -.-), and etc. For me the music I always love to listen to is rock and screamo. Many of you may or may have not heard of screamo but its fine I don't care. Anyways I don't know why I actually like screamo even though its just people yelling and screaming the words during the whole song. I just liked it cause it caught my attention. Rock music I just love it especially if its old classic rock.  My favorite rock bands are Nirvana, Paramore, Blink-182, Sleeping With Sirens, and Three Days Grace . Also my favorite screamo bands are Of Mice and Men, Eyes Set To Kill, Alesana, Black Veil Brides. I have many more favorite bands but those are the bands I mainly listen to. :)

Who said I was a goner?

WHO said I was a GONER? Mama and Papa I have not change, I'm still the little girl you used to play with. Who would always make you smile and laugh. My dear friends I am still the same nice and kind loving person you knew ever since elementary or middle school. Of course you guys see me changing my appearance and my attitude but not my personality. You people may think that I am changing my personality but I'm really not. Beneath all these dark clothes and dark music im still that crazy, fun-loving, and curious little girl that everyone knows. I gotta admit to you I'm still that same girly-girl that my parents knew but I just don't show it and I just hate admitting that I am. So come on people tell me the truth, I won't bite. WHO said I was a GONER? Cause the only thing I want to do is prove that person wrong.

Whale Rider

Pai wasn't the favorite one to her grandfather. Her grandfather doesn't approve of her because she wasn't a boy. You see Pai had a twin brother but he died at birth as well as the mother did. During her whole life Pai's grandmother was the one that supported her. While the grandfather just kept putting her down. The grandmother would tell Pai that her grandfather was just jealous that she could do the things a grandson can do. Until one day Pucker was going to Pai's performance. He was nicely dressed in the clothes Pai laid out for him on his bed. He was about to leave to the performance until he heard a cry of a whale. Pucker went to the lake and saw bodies of helpless whales on the shore. The next day people from the village were helping the whales. Pai saw Pucker walk towards a whale on the far other side of the shore. He started to sing a ritual song, Pai was getting near the whale but then he yelled at her to get away. She did as she was told. Later on Pucker and the people started to try to put back the whale back in the ocean. Pai was on the shore watching as they all failed. They all walked away in failure but Pai went towards the whale. She got on top of it and all of a sudden the whale started to move back to the ocean taking Pai with her. Pai then vanished and the grandmother started to cry out her name. Pucker was there standing on the shore crying to himself that it was his fault that she had vanished. Luckily they found her and Pucker started to love Pai cause she returned.
